Poison Prevention Week: March 19 – 25

Did you know that millions of people are accidentally poisoned each year?  A poison is any substance that causes unwanted symptoms.  There are several things that you can do to keep your family safe from poisons.  Make sure you lock up medicines and household products where children cannot see them.  Store medicines in their original containers, make sure you read the label, and follow directions carefully.  If it is a medicine, call it a medicine, not candy.  Finally, if someone you care about experiences a poisoning, call poison control at 1-800-222-1222 to get medical help right away.
