Tick Season 2017

Have you heard about the increasing number of ticks this summer? The CDC reports that the tick’s range is spreading westward, carrying with it an increasing number of diseases, including Lyme disease. To keep yourself safe when outdoors, walk in the center of trails, avoid tall grassy areas, and take a shower or bath within 2 hours of going indoors. You can also conduct a full-body exam for ticks, removing any with tweezers. Be sure to tumble dry your clothes for at least 10 minutes after being outside to kill any attached ticks.
