Walking dogs in the Summer

Many owners and dogs love to go for walks together, however, during the summer it’s important to make sure the pavement isn’t too hot! If it is a dog can get serious burns on the pads of their paws.  One way to tell if the pavement is too hot is to hold your hand on the ground for at least 10 seconds.  If you are unable to leave your hand there comfortably for 10 seconds then it will be too hot for your dog.  If this is the case, your dog would love a drive to a park for a walk through the grass or to play in a kiddie pool in the yard.
