Insect Bites

It’s that time of the year to spend outside gardening, camping, and hiking and enjoying the warm weather.  However, insects such as bees and wasps are also out and insect stings can occur.  Generally, stings only cause local redness, swelling, and pain that may last a few hours.  These can be treated with cold compresses.  However, some people can be allergic to stings and may not know it.  Symptoms of an allergic reaction can include red blotches over your body, puffiness in the face or hands, itching, and trouble breathing.  It is important to get medical help right away if you experience any of these symptoms after a sting because they can be serious.
