Get Rid of Unwanted and Unused Drugs

Did you know there is an entire day dedicated to getting rid of unused medications? April 25, 2020 is Prescription Drug Take-Back Day! Take-Back Day is an annual event that provides a safe, convenient, and responsible way for patients to dispose of their unused medications, in addition to educating the public about the potential for abuse of medications. Since the program began in 2010, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) has collected nearly 5,000 tons of unused medications! For a complete list of locations participating in the event, visit the DEA’s official Take-Back Day website, www.takebackday.dea.gov. If you have drugs to dispose of and are unable to participate in the event, the pharmacy stocks bags to properly dispose of unused medications.
